Cards And Zones
What If a Card Has More Than One Type?
A card with multiple types follows each type and can be affected through any of them. Unit behavior and rune recycling have explicit priority rules.

The short answer
Use all of the card's types together. A unit that is also GearA permanent type normally played to Base. Non-unit gear normally enters ready and does not have Standard Move. Equipment is gear with the Equipment tag. Gear that is also a unit follows the specific combined-type rules.View in Glossary is both a unit and gear, so an effect that affects either type can affect it.
Where the types conflict, UnitA permanent type with Might that can take damage and use Standard Move. Units normally enter the board exhausted. A unit card outside the board keeps its type, but effects must be able to affect its zone.View in Glossary has specific priority: it has Might, can take damage, enters exhausted and can be played to any valid location. Anything that is a RuneRunes are your resources for paying for cards and abilities. They come from a separate Rune Deck and are brought into play as the game progresses.View in Glossary recycles to the Rune DeckYour separate deck of exactly 12 runes. Shuffle it separately from your Main Deck. Channeling takes runes from this deck and puts them on the board.View in Glossary .

How it works
Having another type does not cancel a type the card already has. Keep the permissions and properties of every type unless they conflict with the specific rules below.
A card that is a Unit has Standard MoveA Standard Move is the normal way a unit moves between its Base and a Battlefield.View in Glossary , even if it is also gear. It can move to a battlefield using that ability's normal rules. It is not automatically recalled to Base by the cleanup rule for non-unit gear. Its unit type also means it enters exhausted, rather than using gear's usual ready entry.
A card that is a Rune uses the Rune Deck when recycled, regardless of its other types.
Effects can interact with any of the object's types. A unit that is also gear can be chosen by “kill a unit” or “kill a gear,” provided it meets the effect's other requirements. Having two types does not let it ignore either instruction.
If attached Equipment becomes a unit, it detaches immediately. A unit cannot be attached to another object, even if it also has the Equipment tag. Equipment already attached to that gear-unit can stay attached when the gear-unit stops being a unit.
In practice
Example
You play a card that is both a unit and gear. It enters exhausted. Later, it can use Standard Move as a unit, and an effect that kills gear can still kill it. The gear type has not disappeared just because you are using its unit abilities.
