Privacy at RiftPal.

RiftPal is designed to work with very little personal data and without accounts, advertising, or behavioural tracking.

The short version

RiftPal does not ask visitors for names, email addresses, Riot accounts, payment details, or profiles. There are no accounts, forms, comments, advertising, visitor profiles, personalised recommendations, or application database.

Search result ranking runs in your browser against a static RiftPal index. A submitted search term appears in the page URL and can therefore be included in the technical request information processed by Cloudflare. RiftPal does not store search history in an application database or analytics service.

Aggregate traffic measurements

RiftPal uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits, page views, popular pages, referring websites and page performance. Reports can group traffic by country, device, browser and operating system. These are aggregate measurements, not identifiable visitor profiles or a count of unique people.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or localStorage, fingerprint visitors, or track individuals across websites. It does not log URL query strings, so submitted search terms are not included in these analytics. Cloudflare still processes the technical delivery information described below.

Cloudflare currently makes reports available for the previous six months, with older data sampled. RiftPal does not export visitor-level records or maintain a separate analytics database. The operator can disable the beacon; browser tools that block it are respected. Read Cloudflare’s Web Analytics documentation for details.

Technical information used to deliver the site

RiftPal is hosted and protected by Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare may process limited technical information such as your IP address, request and network information, requested page, time of the request, routing information, and security-related metadata. This is used to deliver the site, keep it available, and protect it from abuse.

RiftPal relies on the legitimate interests of operating and securing this free website for this limited processing. Cloudflare may retain infrastructure or customer logs under its service configuration and policies. RiftPal has not added custom application logging, does not keep a visitor database, and does not set an additional retention period of its own.

Cloudflare operates internationally. Where relevant, its data-processing terms provide safeguards for transfers outside the European Economic Area. You can read the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum.

Cookies and browser storage

RiftPal’s application does not set cookies. It stores your selected language (English or French) in your browser’s localStorage so the site can remember your preference when you return. This value stays in your browser and is not sent to an analytics service. You can change it with the EN / FR selector or remove it by clearing this site’s browser data. The site still works if browser storage is unavailable. Cloudflare may use a strictly necessary cookie or similar security mechanism if it needs to challenge or protect a request. RiftPal does not use marketing or analytics cookies.

The app and offline references

Your browser or device may remember RiftPal’s installation details and icon. When you choose Download, RiftPal stores the complete reference pack for that language on your device, together with its edition, saved date, readiness and update information. These details let the app check that a download is complete and keep saved references separate from the current online edition.

Use Remove download in Offline Access to remove a language pack. Installing or removing the app and managing its reference packs are separate actions. Your browser or device can also remove stored data to free space. Check the downloads inside the app or browser you will use; they may have separate storage.

Offline reading is not tracked or queued for later analytics. RiftPal does not store reading history, search history, visitor identifiers or advertising profiles. Download and edition information stays on your device and is not sent to an analytics service. Ordinary online navigation keeps the aggregate analytics behavior described above.

RiftPal links to official Riot sources and may link to other third-party websites. Those sites handle data under their own privacy policies once you leave RiftPal.

Your privacy rights

Under the GDPR, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive portable data where applicable. Because RiftPal does not maintain visitor accounts or an application database, there may be little or no RiftPal-held information that can be connected to you.

If you have a concern about how personal data is handled, email privacy@riftpal.xyz. You also have the right to contact the Irish Data Protection Commission.

Who is responsible

Manon Hertel operates the independent, non-commercial RiftPal project from Ireland and is the controller where applicable. The dedicated privacy contact is privacy@riftpal.xyz.

Updates

This notice may be updated if RiftPal’s features or data handling change. Any material new data feature requires a separate privacy review before it is introduced.
