RiftPal explanation
How it works
Combat begins when units from different players fight over the same Battlefield.
Each side adds together the Might of its units in the combat. That total determines how much combat damage that side can deal.
Each player decides how to divide their side's combat damage among the opposing units. You can put all of your damage into one unit or divide it between several units.
After combat damage is resolved, units with lethal damage are killed and leave play.
If units from both sides survived the fighting, the surviving attacking units are Recalled to their Base, while the surviving defending units remain at the Battlefield. The Combat then ends with No Result. Neither player wins that Combat.
If only one player's units survived the fighting, that player wins the Combat. If no units survived, the Combat also ends with No Result.
If the attacking player wins, their surviving units remain at the Battlefield and can take control of it and Conquer it.
Combat isn't decided by simply comparing Might totals. Might determines how much combat damage each side deals. That damage is then assigned to opposing units, and the result depends on which units remain after the combat.
