Scoring

How Battlefield Scoring Works

Score by taking control of Battlefields through Conquer and by keeping control through Hold.

The short answer

are the main way to score points in Riftbound.

You a battlefield when you successfully take control of it. This lets you score a point. If you still control that battlefield when your next turn begins, you score another point by it.

As long as you keep control of that battlefield, you can keep scoring it by Holding it again on later turns.

This means you can earn points both by taking battlefields and by keeping control of them.

How it works

Battlefields are shared locations that players compete to control throughout the game. Scoring them is one of the main ways to gain points.

When you successfully take control of a battlefield, you Conquer it. This lets you score a point.

Once you control a battlefield, keeping it matters too. If you still control it when your next turn begins, you Hold that battlefield and score another point.

Holding isn't limited to the first turn after you Conquer. As long as you keep control of the battlefield, you can continue to Hold and score it again on later turns.

This creates two basic ways to score from battlefields: take control of one through Conquer, or keep control of one through Hold.

Example

You Conquer a battlefield during your turn and score a point.

Your opponent takes their turn but doesn't take control of that battlefield.

When your next turn begins, you still control it, so you Hold the battlefield and score another point.

If you keep control of it until another one of your turns begins, you can Hold it again and score again.
