RiftPal explanation
Why it matters
Healing is part of Combat Cleanup after combat damage, not the moment players finish the combat ShowdownA Showdown is a structured opportunity for players to act when a Battlefield is contested.View in Glossary . It includes damage marked before that combat and units that did not fight.
Ending a non-combat Showdown does not automatically heal units. A separate healing step also occurs at the end of every turn.
In practice
At the table
Your unit at Base has 2 damage marked. A combat finishes at another Battlefield. If that unit remains in play through the lethal-damage check, Combat Cleanup clears its 2 damage too.
