What Extra Cost Does Deflect Require?
An opponent pays Deflect's extra Power for each time their spell or ability chooses the protected permanent.

How it works
This is a mandatory Additional CostA payment added to a card or ability's base cost. Mandatory additional costs must be paid; optional ones become part of the payment when you choose them. A chosen optional additional cost reduced to 0 still counts as paid.View in Glossary paid while playing the spell or ability. Add together the values of multiple Deflect instances on the permanent. If the spell or ability chooses it twice, count that total twice.
If an effect later lets someone change or make new choices for an already-played spell or ability, that does not charge Deflect again.
