A new object created as a copy starts with those copied traits as its own initial traits. It does not need an ongoing copy effect. A Mech tag or Might bonus added later in another layer is not copied.
In practice
Example
Your unempowered unit becomes a copy of an empowered unit. It stays unempowered. If your unit already had a buff or a temporary +2 Might effect, it keeps those modifications.
