How Does Weaponmaster Attach Equipment?

A unit's Weaponmaster play trigger can attach Equipment you control after you pay its discounted Equip cost.

The short answer

When you play a unit with , its play trigger lets you choose you control. Pay that Equipment's current Equip cost, reduced by one power of any domain, to attach it to the Weaponmaster unit.

How it works

Armed Assailant

Work out the cost as if you were activating it for this unit, including any cost changes. The reduction only affects an any-domain power symbol in that cost. uses the cost but does not activate Equip, so it can work regardless of Equip's normal activation timing. The chosen can already be attached elsewhere; it must be able to detach and attach to this unit. You can choose Equipment with no Equip ability, but then there is no Equip cost to pay and it stays where it is. It also stays put if you cannot pay or attach it.

[Accelerate] (You may pay [Energy 1] [Fury] as an additional cost to have me enter ready.) [Weaponmaster] (When you play me, you may [Equip] one of your Equipment to me for [Rainbow] less, even if it's already attached.)

that is also a unit can be chosen, but cannot attach while it remains a unit. Paying its permitted cost does not override that attachment restriction.

Example

You play a Weaponmaster unit and choose Equipment you control with Equip costing two Energy and one power of any domain. If no other cost change applies, pay two Energy; Weaponmaster removes the one-power portion. The Equipment then attaches to the new unit.
